I hopea sollution can be found, but am making preperations in case Comic-nation does go down.
I would like to offer up what I am doing so others may use them, if they so chose.
First, I am copying the entire comic lists, and my fav lists. You can link straight to the comics you like from the general lists.
Secondly, I am a member of different directories that can be moved to.
I have not been on them for a while since I have been here, but here are two sites that are still active, and that people can suggest comics to:
https://piperka.net/ Piperka does track updates.
https://new.belfrycomics.net/ Part of the geneal Belfry group of sites, its original focus was furry comics, but greatly expanded from there. It does not track updates, but listes comics in sections of how often they update.
I think both of these allow the members to edit information about them.

You can join host sites, like Smackjeeves and the Duck, and they will track comics you fav on them, if they are the hosts.
Please add your ideas, or even just sites you suggest

I don't really know any other sites, but I did make a relatively simple application in WPF that I've been using to track those comics in my list that were broken over here (and a few things that weren't comics, because why not?), it works smoothly with sites that use RSS but may need a little tweaking if using HTML. I tried to get the visuals as close as possible to those of this site, so it should be pretty intuitive for anyone who's used to the site. It works only locally, though, so it tracks updates separately for every computer that you have it on (and of course, you can't use it on a phone). I can upload the code and/or the executable somewhere if anyone's interested.

Alright then.
Here's the code: https://mega.nz/#!PgFzUI4Z!Of5YWiQ0Uv7NiDR4zB5SCLc02wi1I83jBp4CV_w1ocE
Here's the installer: https://mega.nz/#!GxNnGKqa!8rgNlT-8uWNyK8ZN6iK3anHytzxKX6iOKu_KcLUYWKw
Here's the standalone exe (with config file): https://mega.nz/#!uhMHWYCJ!dI6qa99NXQwxUzsyJE1w1sNRhmEaeQhmSS4ZjM3ikzE

You'll need .NET Framework 4.5.2 or newer (I'm not entirely sure if the installer will install that for you).

Thanks for the Piperka recommendation. Looks like it'll track all but two of my listed comics.
Be sad to lose this place, it's been my homepage for over a decade.
Amazing how the list has dwindled over time as comics ended, planned or not. I think at peak in University I had nearly 400 subscriptions.

For me, there's ten I'm missing. I submitted them and I hope they'll track them eventually, but since a few are pretty old (Ctrl-Alt-Del and VG Cats, for example) I wouldn't be surprised if it turns out they're not in there for a reason. Like, you know, that one comic that's not allowed to be in here.

I am trying a range of different directories.
Here is a nice site I am going through: http://l-lists.com/en/lists/quobv1.html
This serves a few uses:
1) I can get the best directories I can
2) I can find more comics! ;-)
3) In case one goes down or effectovly frezes, I can just go to the others. This has happened to me before, like with onlinecomics.
4) What one site might not be able to track, other may be able to.

I wonder which comic was not allowed here, because I never refused one. Not even ones featuring vore of an anthropmorthic fish, nor outright gay porn (I'm straight).
The only time I ever removed an address for a comic without replacing it was when one kid friendly site finished, a few years latter vanished and then the address was taken over by a non-comic hardcore porn site. (If it had been a comic, I would have kept a link to it under the proper name.)

Well, now you're making me doubt if it was here or somewhere else, but I remember back in the day there was a huge thing with Queen of Wands, with the author threatening legal action and all that.

Huh. It used to be here, and now it's not. I know I did not remove it, and it used to be in my fav list.
So that's what happened to it.

PS: from the fantasy and sci-fi geek in me before this site goes down, I have this to say
"So long and thanks for all the fish."

Fact. A couple of web comic authors at the time (~2004) asked us not to be included—including Queen of Wands. The web was a *very* different place back then.
