Comic Nation is about to evolve.
For years it has kept us to date with our favorite webcomics, introduced us to new ones, and even provided us with a vibrant forum full of fun and crazy people. In the coming weeks, Comic Nation will be taking the next step forward. The site will start enhancing its role in the webcomic world with a webcomic "magazine". Each week you will find several new articles on topics such as: • Webcomics—including comic news, reviews, and suggested readings. • Gaming—including industry news, game reviews, and previews • Art—including featured galleries, contests, and even how-tos and tutorials • Media—including book reviews, movie reviews, and gems of the internet. • And much more! Interested in getting in on the action? Comic Nation needs a team of bloggers at the helm. If you have ever read an article online and thought you could do better, if you have ever harbored deep envy towards the bloggers over at Wired, or if you have ever dreamed of becoming a web-journalist this may be the “job” for you! Applicants must: • Possess a strong opinion • Be able to write 200-500 words a week (roughly one or two pages) • Be freakin’ awesome! |

Got the first review done and sent off for my column, tentatively titled Roulette Comics. The idea is I'm going to use a random number generator to pick a comic from the database each week to review. It's like 370 words, I guess that's a reasonable length. |

we have a pretty solid team currently--more than enough to get started. here are the tentative assignments: Middlerun: Comics Daszard: Comics/culture Lilmissmaya: Art Sterling Hooper: Movies/Comics (art?) Koby: Movies Goss(remember him?): Video game reviews Martokk88: video game reviews/news/politics We can of course cross assignments and write about other things, but we need to make sure people aren't writing about the same topic at the same time. I may also set up and optional assignment board with articles that would fit well on the site. We also have three more writers still waiting to be placed Zachary J. Moore (background in journalism) Dandoruin ( with a background in narratology and literature) Riggles (a geek-culture guru) Looks like we can make this happen! Ron, I will be sending articles to your g-mail as soon as I can. |

Once I grind my review of Viking out, we will have more than enough articles for a first installment. All we need now is a front page which can handle it. I've e-mailed Ron and things should be going through as soon as he can manage.

Hit a bump in the road. The guy that volunteered to do our new design literally disappeared.
No one has heard from him in days and we are all a little worried (he lives local to me, so its not like he just hasn't been logging on) Were at the stage now where the project will go live once the new site is up and running the articles are all ready; we're just waiting on the design. |
